GIRLS AND WOMEN'S MONTH 2025
Get involved in Girl's and Women's Month!

Girls and Women’s Month is an initiative running through the month of March. Designed to introduce girls and women to the beautiful game across Aotearoa New Zealand. With the recent impact of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, now is the time to keep that momentum going.

Girls & Women’s month was established to shine the spotlight on girls and women in football and grow female participation at the grassroots level. Girls & Women’s month provides football stakeholders with a platform to spark discussions around gender equality and to amplify new and existing female specific programs and events to ensure we remove the barriers to entry for women and girls. Initiatives designed to ensure they increase and retain female players, administrators, coaches, referees and fans.

MANAWATU

Date: Sunday 23rd March
Where: Celaeno Park

Entries will close on 13th March at 5pm. Late entries will not be accepted.

Tournament winner is NOT decided by results but on overall attitude, team "costume" and who feeds us the best!

In celebration of Girls and Women's Month, we are excited to be hosting a “Female Only Referee Give it a Go Session” at the Kirsty Dingley Memorial tournament on Sunday, March 23rd.

Whether you are curious to learn more about refereeing or want to give it a try, this is the perfect opportunity for you to explore and experience it firsthand.

The Kirsty Dingley Memorial Tournament (Palmerston North) is a social event specifically for females, where the focus is on participation rather than scores. Central Football Referees Hannah Dacillo, Tash Thorpe and Mandy Musa will be present to provide guidance, and answer any questions you may have throughout the session.

Don't miss this chance to be a part of a supportive and empowering community of female referees.

For more information or to register your attendance please e-mail our Referee Manager Matt Wallace | matt@centralfootball.co.nz
